Things to Know for TUESDAY NIGHT OF PLAY

Arrive Early: Golfers should arrive as early as possible as you'll need time to pay green fees, grab a drink/snack, familiarize yourself with our weekly game, figure out how to get to your starting hole and socialize with other Canyonettes.

Green & Cart Fees – Pay at Pro Shop:

• 9-hole green fees = $36 or $33 as Player Pass members receive $3 discount

• 9-hole cart fees = $14 or $12 as Canyonettes receive a $2 discount

• Annual Player Pass = $70 (Purchase at Pro Shop)

Check-in (First Night of Play, May 7th, only) with the Board outside of Pro Shop to receive your 2024 grab bag which includes a 10th anniversary lapel pin and golf ball.  Members that attended the Annual Membership Meeting on April 16th will have already received their grab bag.

Starting Hole & Cart # will display on a list taped on the Pro Shop door. Be sure you check before you go out as occasionally Greg may move golfers to a different hole than original sign-up on Golf Genius, but he’ll always keep your foursome intact.

Weekly Games: They are lots of fun but are optional, especially those posting a GHIN score. The weekly game will be announced in the weekly newsletter prior to play but can also be found in the ladies’ lounge on the white board (night of play) or on our website calendar. Game winner receives $6 coupon.

Shotgun start: Begins promptly at 5:15 each Tuesday (walkers should head towards their assigned tees before 5:15).

What’s a Shotgun start? A shotgun start is a golf tournament format in which all groups of players tee off simultaneously from different holes.

Where did the term come from? In May 1956, Jim Russell, the head pro at Walla Walla Country Club in Walla Walla, Washington, fired a shotgun to sound the start of play of this specific format.

Each hole on the course will be the starting hole for two foursomes, Group A and B. Group A begins immediately when they arrive at the hole and Group B tees off once Group A is far enough down the fairway to safely tee-off.

IMPORTANT: Because of the number of Shotgun starters, it will be important that we follow ”Pace of Play” and play “Ready Golf” as well as be courteous and respectful of each other. 9 holes should be completed within 2-1/4 hours.

Pace of Play:

https://www.canyonettesgolf.com/pace-play-etiquette

Ready Golf: 'playing out of turn in stroke play, to save time'.

Maximum strokes per hole guideline: Net Double Bogey for those with a handicap.

Scorecards: Important to sign your score card, legible full name, identify your 'game score' if you chose to play, circle birdies ($4 coupon), chip-ins ($6 coupon) and eagles ($25 coupon). Place your card in the hanging bin in the Ladies Lounge!

There is a random draw against scorecards turned in, no matter if you kept score, played the game or had birdies or chip-ins. Random draw winner receives a logoed tube.

Weekly announcements per email/Facebook will include coupon winners. Coupons for use at Indian Canyon and can be obtained the following week at the Pro Shop.

Club House Kitchen:

If you want to snack or sip before or after golf:
